First Line: The earth is touched with magic!
Last Line: And maytime's loveliness.

The earth is touched with magic! --
Soft fingers of warm rain
Have soothed away the tragic
Cold winter's biting pain.

The warm South Wind is throwing
A kiss to cooler climes,
Earth's fertile fields are growing
A book of lovely rhymes.

The trees are busy writing
Love notes to mating birds --
O Spring is so inviting,
She pens such wooing words!

And soon we'll read her story --
Her book comes off the press
All bound in April's glory,
And Maytime's loveliness.
