OLD VALENTINES, by                     Poet's Biography
First Line: Tiny maids with sunlit hair
Last Line: In one golden memory.
Subject(s): Holidays; Memory; Past; Valentine's Day; Women

Tiny maids with sunlit hair;
Sombre elves with eyes cast down;
Princess dainty, debonnaire;
Auburn tresses, gold, and brown.
Some were gay and some were grave;
Shyly swayed by blame or praise;
Others ruled their willing slave
With their tiny tyrant ways.
Time has blent them all for me
In one golden memory.
