The preacher preached from a pulpit, His voice was deep and loud; But I looked out through the window And saw God wrapped in a cloud. The singer sang some printed words Out of a paper book; But I heard God in the trees outside Talking with the brook. The house was God's holy temple, We read it in a prayer; But I looked into a baby's eyes And I knew that God lived there. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MYSTIC BOUNCE by TERRANCE HAYES MATHEMATICS CONSIDERED AS A VICE by ANTHONY HECHT UNHOLY SONNET 11 by MARK JARMAN SHINE, PERISHING REPUBLIC by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE COMING OF THE PLAGUE by WELDON KEES A LITHUANIAN ELEGY by ROBERT KELLY |
