Sir Winter is a bachelor, --
And prided himself on it
Till he caught a glimpse of April once
In a lovely, new spring bonnet.

If you should chance to meet with May
With lilacs in her hair
And crimson tulips in her hand,
Beware, proud one, beware!

Sir Winter, crusty bachelor,
You'd prove a lover rash
Should you meet June in apple green
With roses at her sash!
