Land of Lakes, where pines stand tall Elbowing the water-fall. Blue sky meets the world's rough rim ... Nature ever chants her hymn. Spring, arbutus trails the moss, Apple blossoms pinkly toss; June's sweet clover feeds the bees, Grainfields ripple in the breeze. Autumn ... maples flaunt their red. Moss has carpeted their bed Whereon dream of worlds beyond Golden hills or old mill-pond. Winter comes to blow and shrill, Snow and ice the valleys fill, Farmers shiver with their cattle, Blizzards roar and casements rattle. By a cozy fireside -- Hours all too swiftly glide! Boreas is holding court For the Northland winter sport! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A MAN GETS OFF WORK EARLY by THOMAS LUX THE FRIARY AT BLOSSOM, PROLOGUE & INSTRUCTIONS by NORMAN DUBIE SONGS FOR TWO SEASONS: 2.
