MOONLIGHT METAPHOR, by ETHEL BROOKS KOGER First Line: The moon is brighter than a silver ball Last Line: Between the moonlight and the light of dawn. Subject(s): Moon | ||||||||
The moon is brighter than a silver ball Upon a tinseled tree at Christmas time; I know that frost upon a frozen hill Could never, never sparkle quite the same. The earth is like enchanted fairyland Where snow-flakes give the rose a royal crown; Then silence tip-toes in to seal a bond Between the moonlight and the light of dawn. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...POEM TO TAKE BACK THE NIGHT by JUNE JORDAN THE MOON AND THE SPECTATOR by LEONIE ADAMS FULL MOON by KARLE WILSON BAKER NO MORE OF THE MOON by MORRIS GILBERT BISHOP THE DEPARTURE by DENISE LEVERTOV THE MOON IN GREECE by TIMOTHY LIU |
