Subject(s): Jesus Christ

Jesus .... in all things .... made like unto His brethren
.... to make reconciliation for the sins of His people
(Heb. 2:17).

He grew!
From tiny babe to sturdy boy and vigorous man;
From knowing naught to knowing much, then all;
Revealing thus the wisdom of God's plan
Whereby the great is slowly reached from small.

He slept!
In sweet unconsciousness and quiet rest,
Serene amid the storm which round Him rose.
How soon those wild waves sank at His behest!
The God of power--yet our frame He knows!

He tired!
And sat beside the well to rest awhile,
Then asked for water from the one who came--
A sinning soul whom He might reconcile
To God. Jesus, Thy heart is still the same!

He wept!
Behold those tears and guage the depth of pain
They represent. "Jerusalem! Too late!
Those things are loss which should have been Thy gain."
While Martha watched Him grieve o'er man's sad state.

He bled!
And every precious drop that flowed from head
And hands and feet and side atoned for me--
My sins on Him; He wounded in my stead.
The blood of God poured forth in agony.
(See Acts 20:2'.)

He died!
O Jesus, Son of man and Son of God,
For wearing human flesh to ransom me,
For going through death's door and 'neath the sod,
I kneel in deepest thanks and love to Thee.

He rose!
Triumphant note of joy! Can we in this
Acclaim Him one with us? Our Brother still?
Praise God--'tis earnest of our coming bliss:
The Firstborn He, and we shall heaven fill!
