First Line: Two of us at table - we
Last Line: You and I -- and destiny!
Subject(s): Togetherness

Two of us at table -- we
Sipped fiery liquor the waitress called tea;
None others in that tea-room did we see.
The room was filled with music like a vesper song,
But no one else heard it in the tea-room's throng.
Your eyes, so tender, whole books told,
And the few words spoken were as weighed with gold.
And only later was it clear to me
That at the table there had been three --
You and I -- and Destiny!
