Guide me through the day, dear Father,
Guide me through the day,
For without thy guidance, Father,
My feet would surely stray.

Hold me by the hand, dear Father,
Hold me by the hand;
Let not my heart by Satan's darts
Be pierced, but hold my hand.

Help me do thy will, dear Father,
Help me do thy will,
That thy words of praise, "Thou hast well done,"
Will linger with me still.

Lead me gently on, dear Father,
Lead me gently on,
And when my work is ended,
Dear Father, lead me home.
