A DREAM OF HAPPINESS, by                     Poet's Biography
First Line: One sat and modelled a most perfect face
Last Line: Conceiving heaven, he lived without its gate.
Subject(s): God; Happiness; Heaven; Joy; Delight; Paradise

ONE sat and modelled a most perfect face;
And they who passed him, marvelling at its grace,
Vowed never mortal breathed so blest as he
Whose soul held dream of such divinity.
He, as he wrought, cursed God.—This was his fate;
Conceiving Heaven, he lived without its gate.
