THE VOICE OF A SOUL, by                    
First Line: I hear a voice exceeding rare
Last Line: And lead me upward to my god.

I hear a voice exceeding rare.
It fills the silence everywhere.
It speaks to me in wondrous tone --
Till its very thoughts become my own.

It raises me to realms above;
It fills my heart and soul with love;
It guides me on my upward way;
It turns my darkness into day.

O still, small Voice, abide with me!
In life, in death, still speak to me.
Call me from beneath the sod
And lead me upward to my God.
