OUR LOVELY PIONEER, by ELVA N. LOVELL First Line: In the club there is a lady Last Line: Yes, our lovely pioneer. Subject(s): Clubs (associations); Sisters | ||||||||
In the club there is a lady, And her hair is silvery gray, But her smile is just as winsome As it was on that first day. Yes, that first day -- we say it proudly, For it meant so much to all, When the yearbook was completed And she answered first roll call. Through the years she has been faithful, Faithful to her holy trust; Earnest, hopeful, wise, and tactful, And we've always found her just. Twenty years! Oh, sisters ponder How inspiring the career Of our faithful, dear, club lady, Yes, our lovely pioneer. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HYMN FOR LANIE POO by AMIRI BARAKA CALMING KALI by LUCILLE CLIFTON FAR MEMORY: 1.
