SONG AT MORNING, by
First Line: Stars that trembled on the stream
Last Line: The cuckoo calls.
Subject(s): Moon; Stars

STARS that trembled on the stream
Have lost their light;
Moon that made the golden dream
Is dead and white.

All the world that silence kept
For her dear sake,
All that waited while she slept,
Is now awake.

Along the wood, along the vale,
The sunlight falls;
And where we heard the nightingale
The cuckoo calls.
