MIRROR, by KATHERINE GLEESON MCALEER First Line: The bay lies steely gray / and cold the sky Last Line: Of the vast infinite. Subject(s): Mirrors | ||||||||
The bay lies steely gray And cold the sky; The weight of night descends And, burdened, I Shiver and feel its load. Tomorrow, when the sun Shall warm the loan; When wind shall stir the bay In yeasty foam, Joy will rise in my heart. Solemn or gay, In me all Nature's moods Reflect as sky in bay. I am a part Of the vast infinite. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE FAT MAN IN THE MIRROR by ROBERT LOWELL THE CLOCK IN THE MIRROR by JOHN CIARDI EXPLICATION OF AN IMAGINARY TEXT by JAMES GALVIN SEEING FOR A MOMENT by DENISE LEVERTOV THE MIRROR IN THE WOODS by KENNETH REXROTH OPPOSITES: 38 by RICHARD WILBUR |
