Content and peace urge not to flights above,
Caged birds sing sweetest when they long for love;
And hearts aware of bliss beyond their reach
Endure a sacrifice that others preach.

The soul that voices on the pulsing air
Its ardent longing and divine despair
Pours forth its song of unfulfilled desire
Born of the fever of a soul on fire.
