BEACHCOMBER, by GEORGE JAMES MICHALOPOULOS First Line: You look soft on the edge of this sea Last Line: Water at our feet. Subject(s): Beachcombers | ||||||||
You look soft on the edge of this sea When, each night, you pull the stars, seemingly on strings, low and talk with me in a language tinkling in its flow. At night the waves beat the many times hurled dunes, making brittle shore flowers shudder, at night they sweep in like the long, silent glide of some bird on taut wings. We sit by this sea and the wind shakes the flowers at our backs and the water at our feet. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE BEACHCOMBER by MILDRED DOSCH BANTA BEACHCOMBER by ELIZABETH HAYNES SANDS BEACHCOMBER by JOHANNES BOBROWSKI BEACHCOMBER by JOAN PAYNE KINCAID BEACHCOMBING IN SKEIN COVE by JUDITH NEELD BEACHCOMBER by ROBERT WILLIAM SERVICE ANECDOTE SYMPHONIOUS by GEORGE JAMES MICHALOPOULOS |
