TWILIGHT AUDITION, by MARTITIA M. MOORE First Line: I muse - a drowsy film bewreaths my world Last Line: My soul exultant floats in ecstasy! Subject(s): Dreams; Nightmares | ||||||||
I muse -- a drowsy film bewreaths my world; With waking eyes I vision naught but sound; The lucid air with smaller life is voiced, A peeping, warbling, chirping symphony. From wooded hill a hermit's aria, A clarion-concerto-evensong Entrancingly, in cadence wings and falls. Its crystal flowing saturates the ear. Mosaic gardens lie in cooling green With petal-tesserae like hidden gems; The sun-basked furs her soothing balm exudes; A sense of sheltered peace from sleeping fronds. Unconsciously, I raise my eyes in praise; My soul exultant floats in ecstasy! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...VARIATIONS: 14 by CONRAD AIKEN VARIATIONS: 18 by CONRAD AIKEN LIVE IT THROUGH by DAVID IGNATOW A DREAM OF GAMES by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN THE DREAM OF WAKING by RANDALL JARRELL APOLOGY FOR BAD DREAMS by ROBINSON JEFFERS GIVE YOUR WISH LIGHT by ROBINSON JEFFERS BIRTH OF A ROSE by MARTITIA M.
