ANGEL COME TO TOWN, by OPHIE LOU NALL First Line: Lips so red, hair of brown Last Line: That bring a fond regret. Subject(s): Babies; Infants | ||||||||
Lips so red, hair of brown, Skin like fairy down, Eyes of blue Look at you Angel come to town. Lightly tripping little feet, A figure -- O, so neat. Just a sweet and simple child We all desire to meet. Lovely smile, gentle hands Greet you all the while; Friendship holds you with its bands Free from any guile. Voice so soft yet tinkling clear -- One you can't forget -- Reminiscent of the days That bring a fond regret. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A POET TO HIS BABY SON by JAMES WELDON JOHNSON BABYHOOD by ELIZABETH AKERS ALLEN INFANCY by EDMUND JOHN ARMSTRONG BALLAD OF THE LAYETTE by WAYNE KOESTENBAUM A TOAST FOR LITTLE IRON MIKE by PAUL MARIANI THE PAMPERING OF LEORA by THYLIAS MOSS ONE FOR ALL NEWBORNS by THYLIAS MOSS IN THE THRIVING SEASON by LISEL MUELLER FLORAL APOSTLES by OPHIE LOU NALL |
