A rose unfolding in the sun This simple truth once taught to me: Not from without is beauty won; The beauty in itself must be. I watched the glimmer of a star: Adown the Infinite it shone, Its charm of radiance cast afar Because the gleam was all its own. And so the miracle of you: Within yourself the glories shine; Your soul has vision clear and true And radiates a light divine. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE EPIC STARS by ROBINSON JEFFERS HYMN TO THE STARS by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS CHRISTMAS TREE by JOHN FREDERICK NIMS CLEMATIS MONTANA by MADELINE DEFREES THE UNCERTAINTY PRINCIPLE by JAMES GALVIN TO SEE THE STARS IN DAYLIGHT by JAMES GALVIN GRIEF by ELIZABETH BARRETT BROWNING |
