PRAYER TO YEARS, by HELEN ODERKIRK O'ROURKE First Line: O my years! Be merciful! Be buoyant! Last Line: Seeds that beyond oblivion grow. Subject(s): Future; Prayer; Seeds | ||||||||
O my years! Be merciful! Be buoyant! Leave some fine task within this ageing hand, Something others may wish to understand; Dispell my want with hours most deeply filled, Consign some worthy deed Where breathes an urgent need; Give me, I pray, A full and useful day! My years! O my years rest lightly! Sing brightly! Along a narrow road Master a full-strength load; From stumbling steps make wise selection A gift to final introspection; Assist this ageing hand to sow Seeds that beyond oblivion grow. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SEED LEAVES; HOMAGE TO R.
