SPRING, by GRACE FITZGERALD ORR First Line: Out in god's brilliant sunshine Last Line: That spring has come to stay. Subject(s): Spring | ||||||||
Out in God's brilliant sunshine The grass is restful green, Spirea in the garden shines With a glimmering sheen. The birdbath awaits the robins Who from the treetops fly, While near by stands the sundial Where sunny hours go by. The rose blooms on the rose-vine Along the garden wall. Mignonette, her neighbor, sings, "Miss Rose, I've come to call." The snowball nods her pretty head To the tulips, not far away. And all the flowers hear it said That Spring has come to stay. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPRING LEMONADE by TONY HOAGLAND A SPRING SONG by LYMAN WHITNEY ALLEN SPRING'S RETURN by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SPRING IN WINTER by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES SPRING ON THE PRAIRIE by HERBERT BATES THE FARMER'S BOY: SPRING by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD |
