Wide, green Valley, between low hills, pine clad, How beautiful you are in Spring -- how glad The smiling face you lift to April skies, That playful, drop their silver on your head as rain. How hopeful is the promise that you give, Deep-bosomed Mother, that each flower will live To make lovelier the earth, and that to nourish men Each plant and grass and grain will know new life again. Immortal is the beauty that you bring, Eternal is the song of life you sing, Wide, green Valley, between low hills pine clad. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...INTERRUPTED MEDITATION by ROBERT HASS TWO VIEWS OF BUSON by ROBERT HASS THE FATALIST: HOME by LYN HEJINIAN WRITING IS AN AID TO MEMORY: 17 by LYN HEJINIAN LET US GATHER IN A FLOURISHING WAY by JUAN FELIPE HERRERA IN MICHAEL ROBINS?ÇÖS CLASS MINUS ONE by HICOK.
