First Line: I shall look up to the high hills
Last Line: Even when I've staked all in life's tourney -- and lost.

I shall look up to the high hills,
I shall seek the faint glow in the west --
Even when I've done my best, -- and failed.

I shall look up to the high heavens,
I shall seek the cool gaze of the stars --
Even when I can't see Mars -- beyond.

I shall look upon the distant sun
That is ever turning in its daily journey --
Even when I've staked all in life's tourney -- and lost.
