AT THE PIANO, by ARTHUR PETERSON Poet's Biography First Line: Beneath her touch the keys take life Last Line: And capture me. Subject(s): Music & Musicians | ||||||||
Beneath her touch the keys take life, And carol sweetly as a bird At dawn, before the toil and strife Of day are heard; Then, changing, chant a tender song And potent; so a syren's strain Sounds to his ears who, sea-tost long, Sights land again. Spell-bound I stand; her hand, her arm, Her lovely face are all I see; Her beauty and her music charm And capture me. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...LINER NOTES TO AN IMAGINARY PLAYLIST by TERRANCE HAYES VARIATIONS: 13 by CONRAD AIKEN BELIEVE, BELIEVE by BOB KAUFMAN ROUND ABOUT MIDNIGHT by BOB KAUFMAN MUSIC by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES THE POWER OF MUSIC by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES A CLOUD FANCY by ARTHUR PETERSON |
