HE GAVE the game all that he hadthe game Was all his life from boyhood to old age His fortunes rose, and sank, and rose again, As he bulked great upon the baseball stage. His was a splendid spiritthrough the days He dreamed of great things for the future years, Of vast pavilions, towering stands, dense-packed, And ringing with the myriads' thundering cheers. Prince of good fellows, royal sportsman, who Was a true "magnate" in the best sensewhen Will we salute another of his type?
