CHRISTMAS SYMBOLS, by

What are the signs of Christmas time?
The shepherds in the fields with herds,
The star, the babe, the angels' song,
The wise men seeking after truth
And traveling a way that's long.

Though centuries have slipped away,
These symbols guide us on today
And lead us to the Bethlehem town
To view the child of love divine
Not born in splendor nor renown.

A star will always guide one on
To where an unknown mystery lies,
And God has given him some gift
By which the hidden truth he'll find
And the world to higher levels lift.
