Chinese maiden, tea cup in her hand, Bringing me fragrance from her native land, Dreams of ponds of lilies; gods in temples dim, Rich in gold and jewels, make my senses swim Magic streams of silver Flowing to the sea, Crowd into my musing In a cup of tea. Lamas chanting praises, tinkling temple bell, Costly painted abbeys where incarnates dwell, Incense curling faintly, prayer wheel spinning slow, All the unknown mysteries of Tibet's plateau All this mystic splendor In my dreams I see, Wrought by some great magic In a cup of tea. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...PLAIN LANGUAGE FROM TRUTHFUL JAMES by FRANCIS BRET HARTE OF FLESH AND SPIRIT by WANG PING FINE FEATHERS by HENRY T.
