I

THE mountains of Glamorgan
Look down towards the sea,
Their song is clear as any bell
In melodies that sink and swell,
And there they stand to sentinel
A land of mystery.

II

The mountains of Glamorgan
Grow wondrous in the spring:
Perhaps our dead folk gather there
To bless their land in song and prayer,
For every thicket, nook and lair
Is loud with whispering.

III

When I have reached my journey's end
And I am dead and free,
I pray that God will let me go
To wander with them to and fro
Along those singing hills I know
That look towards the sea.
