It isn't raining rain to me, it's raining wheat and corn; In every jeweled drop I see new wealth upon the farm. The falling spray persists all day and saturates the town, It isn't raining rain to me, it's raining dollars down. It isn't raining rain to me, but fields of waving green, Where herds of cattle feeding may everywhere be seen Enjoying verdant pasture, with their sleek and glossy coats, It isn't raining rain to me, it's raining corn and oats. It isn't raining rain to me, it's raining ease and wealth, Contentment, joy, and happiness, and large supplies of health To saint and sinner, great and small, who'er you chance to meet, It isn't raining rain to me, it's raining corn and wheat. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...KICKING THE LEAVES by DONALD HALL THE FARMER'S BOY: WINTER by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD THE FARMER'S BOY: SPRING by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD THE FARMER'S BOY: SUMMER by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD THE FARMER'S BOY: AUTUMN by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD |
