CART TO A STAR, by LILLIAN S. RING First Line: She hitched her cart to a star - poor thing Last Line: Or you're liable to fall rather far! Subject(s): Strength | ||||||||
She hitched her cart to a starpoor thing, To the highest star in the blue, Beyond this earthly realm, poor thing, In the area angels knew! She hitched her cart to a starpoor thing, With her heart strings she bound it with care But she used all her strings on her cartpoor thing, Insecure she fell through the air. How she fell, how she fell, how she fellpoor thing, In a pit, o, my soul so low, Till she couldn't rebound to a levelpoor thing, Where ordinary mortals go! And the moral of my fool song is this If you hitch your cart to a star Save some of your heart strings to bind yourself in Or you're liable to fall rather far! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE MAN SPLITTING WOOD IN THE DAYBREAK by GALWAY KINNELL RESENTMENT by RICHARD ALDINGTON I WILL NOT BE CLAIMED by MARVIN BELL FRESCOES FOR MR.
