Somewhere, I know, is peace for weary eyes, Even for hearts that cry in lonely pain That all events are empty as the rain, And worthless is their prudence to the wise. Somewhere is quiet in the maddened maze Where over us a weeping sky is bent, Where fretful haste and tired discontent Are sad companions of our tearful days. Do you remember how the cloudy grey Of yesterday obscured the very hills, And covered every twig with shining tears Distilled from empty air? Just so, I say, Our tears that ever come against our wills Distill our griefs to dissipate our fears. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HOPE IS NOT FOR THE WISE by ROBINSON JEFFERS SONNET by JAMES WELDON JOHNSON SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SONNET: 9.
