ROSEBUDS IN CLOISONNE, by GERTRUDE M. ROBINSON First Line: A priceless thing - my vase of cloisonne Last Line: Of rosebuds in a vase of cloisonne? Subject(s): Artifacts; Vases | ||||||||
A priceless thing -- my vase of cloisonne, Symbolic of the land of cherry-bloom; The sheer perfection of each tiny spray, Enameled where the golden wires given room For blossoms fair, bespeaks an artist's dream. The quaint designs of lacquered loveliness, When polished, radiate the magic theme, So graceful in its dainty usefulness. I filled the vase with rosebuds wet with dew, Their velvet petals flecked with diamonds rare; The shell-pink beauties, dressed for their debut, Nod sweetly and with such a charming air.
