LOVE comes not by trying,
Love's a jealous God;
On himself relying,
Men must wait his nod.
All own his prerogative;
He alone doth lawless live.

In the frozen fallows
Flora's throne doth rise;
Wind drives home the swallows,
And the wind's self dies:
Love alone when he takes wing
Turns not home from wandering.
