FENCES, by
First Line: Shall I fast hedge myself within
Last Line: Must surely freeze.
Subject(s): Friendship - False Friends; Love; Relationships; Fair Weather Friends

Shall I fast hedge myself within
A tiny plot
And think to fend from troublous tares
The sacred spot?

Chill fences do not bar
Soul enemies,
And friendship shunted from Love's fire
Must surely freeze.
