WHEN JOHN TURNS ON THE RADIO, by GENEVA HARRIS SCOTT First Line: When john turns on the radio Last Line: When john turns on the radio. Subject(s): Dancing & Dancers; Radio | ||||||||
When John turns on the radio, He gets all settled in his chair, And draws his smoker up quite near. I speak to him -- he does not hear, But looks at me with vacant stare, And acts just like I wasn't there, When John turns on the radio. I go and find myself a seat, And listen to the music sweet; But soon my feet start keeping time To those sweet tunes; We both get up and start to dance, It thrills us so, When John turns on the radio. Sometimes when winter nights are cold and clear, That lovely music seems so near, We just feel satisfied to sit and hear Those gems that come from far and near. We have front seats at every show, When John turns on the radio. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL BROADCASTING CORPORATION by ANSELM HOLLO ROSE COLORED GLASSES by KENNETH REXROTH LISTENING TO A BROKEN RADIO by ARTHUR SZE ELECTRIC ELEGY by ADAM ZAGAJEWSKI RADIO BLUES by KENNETH FEARING BETRAND AND GOURGAUD TALK OVER OLD TIMES by EDGAR LEE MASTERS |
