FULL HEART, by GLORY E. SCOTT First Line: I wonder what she looked like / mother sweet Last Line: Since I was one year old. Subject(s): Legends; Memory | ||||||||
I wonder what she looked like -- Mother sweet of mine; If her hair was curly, Or was it sleek and fine, Her eyes, Oh! were they dark or grey, Did she look like me; It is very long Since she held me on her knee. Some have memories fair and fine Of a Mother; better far Some have likenesses maybe There before them where they are. A legendary Mother mine, Yet beauteous visions can I mould; Some day, Unknown, we'll bridge the gap Since I was one year old. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MEMORY AS A HEARING AID by TONY HOAGLAND THE SAME QUESTION by JOHN HOLLANDER FORGET HOW TO REMEMBER HOW TO FORGET by JOHN HOLLANDER ON THAT SIDE by LAWRENCE JOSEPH MEMORY OF A PORCH by DONALD JUSTICE |
