THE GARDEN, by MARY CHISHOLM SEAGER First Line: I want to live in a garden Last Line: Than any place I know! Subject(s): Gardens & Gardening | ||||||||
I want to live in a garden In the sunlight and the air, Beside the grasses and the trees And all the flowers fair. I want to grow beside them And help them day by day, Since they help me and make my life Happier every way! The world began with a garden In Eden, long, long ago; The Saviour of men had a garden Where He for peace could go. I love to watch the miracle When blossoms bud and blow; I'm nearer to God in a garden, Than any place I know! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...NOVEMBER GARDEN: AN ELEGY by ANDREW HUDGINS AN ENGLISH GARDEN IN AUSTRIA (SEEN AFTER DER ROSENKAVALIER) by RANDALL JARRELL ACROSS THE BROWN RIVER by GALWAY KINNELL A DESERTED GARDEN by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS NOT THE SWEET CICELY OF GERARDES HERBALL by MARGARET AVISON AN OLD GARDEN by HERBERT BASHFORD TO HENRY LINCOLN JOHNSON - LAWYER by GEORGIA DOUGLAS JOHNSON MIDSUMMER FROST (2) by ISAAC ROSENBERG TONE PICTURE (MALIPIERO: IMPRESSONI DAL VERO) by JEAN STARR UNTERMEYER |
