THE SUN - A PRODIGAL, by
First Line: The sun was prodigal tonight
Last Line: The sun was prodigal tonight.
Subject(s): Sun

The Sun was prodigal tonight,
With gold he decked the stream;
He opened wide his treasure chest,
Flung out the gems that he loved best;
On every blade of grass they rest,
And every leaf's agleam
With rubies, emeralds, diamonds bright, --
The Sun was prodigal tonight.
