TENDER THINGS, by MARGARET HORSCH STEVENS First Line: My heart is reaching out Last Line: In the spring. Subject(s): Spring | ||||||||
My heart is reaching out To tender things, The unforgotten words Of other springs When every day that dawned Brought tasks to do, And life flowed gaily on Because of you. We shared each simple joy And found a way To banish all the dust Of yesterday. We saw a falling star And wished in vain, Yet -- if I had the chance I'd wish again. My heart is reaching out Remembering The tender things that blossomed In the spring. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPRING LEMONADE by TONY HOAGLAND A SPRING SONG by LYMAN WHITNEY ALLEN SPRING'S RETURN by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SPRING IN WINTER by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES SPRING ON THE PRAIRIE by HERBERT BATES THE FARMER'S BOY: SPRING by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD I BROKE MY CRUST by MARGARET HORSCH STEVENS THE HILL WIFE: LONELINESS by ROBERT FROST TO HIS DYING BROTHER, MASTER WILLIAM HERRICK by ROBERT HERRICK |
