CELESTE: 6. THE KISS, by ARTHUR WILLIAM SYMONS Poet Analysis Poet's Biography First Line: There's a tune in my head tonight Last Line: Is it this?) of her kiss! Subject(s): Kisses | ||||||||
There's a tune in my head to-night, As I walk, as I talk, And it swoons in a whirl of light (While the day fades away) And I hear my heart as it beats A refrain, and again I am splashed by the mud of the streets, And again feel the rain. I am hushed, and I listen, and move Far apart, to her heart, I am lost in the arms of her love; Then I hear, in my ear, Oh, what voices of men that seem Scarce amiss to my bliss, For I walk in a dream (a dream? Is it this?) of her kiss! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...CHAMBER MUSIC: 31 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 34 by JAMES JOYCE KISSING AGAIN by DORIANNE LAUX PROMISES, PROMISES by PAUL MULDOON THE CITY OF THE OLESHA FRUIT by NORMAN DUBIE PENDULUM by GEORGIA DOUGLAS JOHNSON NERVES by ARTHUR WILLIAM SYMONS |
