WHERE IS HEAVEN?, by EVERETT GUY TALBOTT First Line: Let me not dream of some fair paradise Last Line: But here on earth, when men are ruled by love. Alternate Author Name(s): Talbott, E. Guy Subject(s): Heaven; Paradise | ||||||||
Let me not dream of some fair paradise Beyond the grave where fleshless angels dwell, While here my brothers die in sacrifice To Mars and Moloch, making earth a hell. Instead, let me fulfill the dreams of those Prophetic men of old who saw a world Redeemed by love; with none of Moloch's woes: Where flags of Mars are never more unfurled. Yet if I dream, let not my dreams remain As clouds of hope beyond the reach of man; But let them form a house where men attain The Golden Age, unfound since time began. Heaven is not in some fair realm above, But here on earth, when men are ruled by love. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE END OF LIFE by PHILIP JAMES BAILEY SEVEN TWILIGHTS: 6 by CONRAD AIKEN THE BOOK OF THE DEAD MAN (#19): 2.
