SONG TO THE NEW DAY, by LULU E. THOMPSON First Line: New day is blushing in the east Last Line: Reminding me of you. Subject(s): Hearts; Love; Memory | ||||||||
New day is blushing in the east With soft and rosy glow; The dull gray shadows fade away, The birds trill soft and low. From depths of night comes radiant morn; My heart is light and gay, And in my breast new hopes are born To match the dawning day. But soon the star-rimmed dawn gives place To skies of gold and blue; The birds sing sweet, the blossoms smile, Reminding me of you. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MEMORY AS A HEARING AID by TONY HOAGLAND THE SAME QUESTION by JOHN HOLLANDER FORGET HOW TO REMEMBER HOW TO FORGET by JOHN HOLLANDER ON THAT SIDE by LAWRENCE JOSEPH MEMORY OF A PORCH by DONALD JUSTICE BEYOND THE HUNTING WOODS by DONALD JUSTICE |
