LIFE, by KATHRYN RICH TICE First Line: Yesterday - I met her, with her gladsome Last Line: It this be life, it still is death, to all the joys we know. Subject(s): Life; Weariness; Fatigue | ||||||||
Yesterday -- I met her, with her gladsome, winning smile, Golden curls, azure eyes, lovely all the while; Teeth of pearl, heart of gold, Loving words oft said, Cherished hopes, hearts attune, We loved and all cares fled. Today -- we meet again, O time what hast thou done? Golden curls, white as the snow, Tired eyes and sad; Lines of weariness and none of the gladsome that she had. Hearts grown weary, through life's hard way; Steps so feebly slow, It this be life, it still is death, to all the joys we know. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...VALUE IN MOUNTAINS: 10 by KENNETH REXROTH IMPERIAL NOSTALGIAS: 4 by CESAR VALLEJO BLACK SHEEP by RICHARD EUGENE BURTON TIRED TIM by WALTER JOHN DE LA MARE WEARINESS by HENRY WADSWORTH LONGFELLOW NEURASTENIA by AGNES MARY F.
