QUESTING, by MATTIE RICHARDS TYLER First Line: I live again that night when from our hill Last Line: We had been born to love on such a night! Subject(s): Love; Sonnet (as Literary Form) | ||||||||
I live again that night when from our hill We watched the moon lay pearls upon the sea! We were alone, and you pressed close to me. Remembering, I feel again the thrill Of your embrace holding me near and still. We knew at last that it was meant to be -- Our love that set all inhibitions free And made emotion master of the will. Forsaking hostile paths we ceased to roam; Behind we left our narrow, cramped lagoon; Alone, at last, we stepped from shrouds of fright, Upon the coast the sea dashed clouds of foam, The stars paid silent homage to the moon.
