BUILDING TODAY, by LILLIAN VIGGERS First Line: I wish that as you walk along life's way Last Line: Oh, don't forget! You are building it today. Subject(s): Growth; Life | ||||||||
I wish that as you walk along life's way, You would pluck the blossoms rich in happiness, You can, but oh, you must begin today! To store thought treasures rich in blessedness. Just at the growth that each year adds its kind To that small tree which makes a mighty thing, So does the little thought that's kept in mind Grow strong, thus you decide what it shall bring. Tomorrow if you wish more loveliness Along the path and make the future pay In golden hours and lifelong happiness, Oh, don't forget! you are building it today. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...PRIVILEGE OF BEING by ROBERT HASS SEAWATER STIFFENS CLOTH by JANE HIRSHFIELD SAYING YES TO LIVING by DAVID IGNATOW THE WORLD IS SO DIFFICULT TO GIVE UP by DAVID IGNATOW DAINTY FOOTSTEPS by LILLIAN VIGGERS |
