First Line: A little boy just half-past three
Last Line: "but, he's in so many pieces."
Subject(s): God

A little boy just half-past three,
On a sunny day in May,
Asked his mother childishly,
"Where is God today?"

The mother, quite confused
As to what to do or say,
Tried so hard to explain to him
In a very simple way.

"He's in the flowers and grass," she said.
"He's part of the birds and trees,
He makes the sun to shine so bright.
He's the keeper of the bees.

"He makes the raindrops patter down,
He makes the waters flow;
He's part of everything, and all
The things we love below."

The little child, so innocent,
Listened to every word she said,
And when she had finished,
Scratched his little head.

Looking up so sweetly,
His wonder never ceases,
"Ma, I love God awful much,
But, He's in so many pieces."
