Though all the world is inky black,
The Christian's heart is bright.
Though all the world is off the track,
The Christian's course is right.

Though all the world has come to blows,
The Christian is at peace.
Though all the world in shackles goes,
The Christian finds release.

Though all the world should faint and fail,
Still, Christian, hold you true!
He must endure, He must prevail --
The Christ who dwells in you!
