OUTDOOR PEACE, by AMOS RUSSEL WELLS Poet's Biography First Line: Have fears and worries vexed you? Last Line: The home that will receive you. Subject(s): Faith; Belief; Creed | ||||||||
Have fears and worries vexed you? Go out among the trees; Think: He who made all these Will He not well protect you? Do thronging doubts molest you? Sit down there in the sun Where heaven's joys o'errun, And think how God has blessed you. Does some one scorn or slight you? Stand forth among the hills, Forget your petty ills. Remember: God will right you. Do long, long sorrows grieve you? Look upward to the stars, And think: No anguish mars The home that will receive you. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...UNHOLY SONNET 4 by MARK JARMAN QUIA ABSURDUM by ROBINSON JEFFERS GOING TO THE HORSE FLATS by ROBINSON JEFFERS SONNET TO FORTUNE by LUCY AIKEN JONATHAN EDWARDS IN WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS by ROBERT LOWELL RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION by MINA LOY A BATTLE SONG (WRITTEN IN THE WORLD WAR) by AMOS RUSSEL WELLS |
