THINGS TO LOVE, by ETHEL SCOTT WILLIAMS First Line: There are so many things to love Last Line: And then, my love, there's you. Subject(s): Materialism | ||||||||
There are so many things to love, Like prayers and trees and skies, And sorrows that have slipped away, And memories and sighs. An old house filled with beauties' store, A garden with old flowers, A day that is long remembered, Its gladsome, sunny hours. We love the tintings on a tree, The ocean white and blue, A heaven full of singing stars, And then, my love, there's You. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...BELIEVE, BELIEVE by BOB KAUFMAN SERVICE by GEORGIA DOUGLAS JOHNSON THE GOLDEN AGE by WILLIAM EDMONSTOUNE AYTOUN WEDNESDAY IN Y' HOLY WEEK by JOSEPH BEAUMONT TIS LITTLE I COULD CARE FOR PEARLS by EMILY DICKINSON FOREST FLOWERS by ROBERT FROST IMITATION OF POPE: A COMPLIMENT TO THE LADIES by WILLIAM BLAKE |
