Out on the prairies the earth is awaking; Out on the prairies all life lifts its head. Out on the prairies a glory is breaking Pasque Flower returns! The winter was cold. The desolate wold Stretched pale and sere to the rim. The tempest's wild groan, the wind's eerie moan Sounded a requiem grim. A requiem? No. Brief respite, then, lo! Out on the prairies a flood rushes vernal; Out on the prairies stands Beauty again.
